The Breed developed in about 1850 by Scottish weavers, who often boasted that the fine silky coat of the Yorkie was the ultimate product of their looms they became very fashionable upper-class pets and pampered companion dog during Victorian era in Yorkshire, England; weavers often made lucrative business of breeding these for the upper classes.

A spunky breed of toy dog known for being spirited, self-assured, intelligent and very loyall; blue and tan or black and tan coat is long, flowing all the way to the ground, straight, and very fine and silky. Thier ears are small, erect, and slightly pointed; tail is docked. Eyes are small, round, and darkly shining. Adults stand 8-9 in. (20-23 cm) tall at the shoulders and weighs 4-7 lbs (2-3 kg).

Carter has now been retired from breeding, we have kept a daughter of his (Darby) and are looking forward to carrying on his lines through his daughter. He will continue to be a wonderful pet and family member!

Originated in Hunsruck, Germany in 1984, the Biewer (pronounced Bee-vair) is still a relatively rare breed outside its native country, but is quickly gaining international popularity and growth in North America. Resembling to its very close cousin the Yorkie, the Biewer was created through a recessive piepald gene mutation through the Yorkshire Terrier.

The Biewer is an energetic, clever, and confident little dog in a small package (usually under 8lbs). They are a loving devoted family member, equally happy to romp and play or cuddle on the couch. They are a terrier and do possess a feisty, confident streak. Treated with love and respect they are a happy, even-tempered, fun-loving companion who will rarely leave your side.

They have the same long silky coat like a Yorkshire, however the coat is tri coloured. The base coat of the body is white with black, blue or chocolate color in patches over the total body area. The face also has the 3 colours of white black and tan. Each Biewer is unique!

At Seven Pines all of our Biewers are IBC registered in Germany. (Internationalen Biewer Yorkshire Terrier Club e. V.) They are not currently recognized by the CKC, so we have kept close to their origins and have continued to register with the IBC in Germany.
